Ingredients

  • 2 sides of pork ribs
  • 1 1/2 cups spritz of choice
  • 1/2 lb. Softened Butter

Special Tools

  • Foil or butcher paper

Directions

  1. Preheat your pellet grill or smoker to 225°F.
  1. Remove the ribs from any packaging, pat dry, and remove the membrane and any extra fat from back side. Pro Tip: Use a Pit Boss Rib Prep Tool to remove the membrane easily.
  1. Season the ribs with your choice of BBQ rub and allow to sit for 10 minutes. We chose Pit Boss Sweet Heat rub for this recipe.
  1. Place ribs on the center rack of your smoker.
  1. Smoke for 2 1/2 hours, spritzing every 25-30 minutes with your favorite spritz liquid. We used a 3:1 ratio of apple juice and cider vinegar.
  1. Remove the ribs from your grill and rub all sides with softened butter. Wrap the ribs with butcher paper, foil, or place in a pan covered with film and foil.
  1. Place the ribs back on your grill and allow to braise. Check after an hour. If you want your ribs to be more well-done or fall off the bone, allow to braise for an additional 45 minutes to an hour.
  1. Remove your ribs from grill once they're cooked just how you like. Coat with your favorite BBQ sauce and place back on the grill for 15-20 minutes.
  1. Allow the ribs to rest for 15 minutes before carving and serving.
