It's easy to get a taste of NYC at home with our Chopped Cheese Slider recipe. For those who don't know, it's a sandwich with all the flavor of a hamburger – just without the patty. Seasoned ground beef is cooked on the griddle and topped with cheese. We suggest serving them on King's Hawaiian original rolls with your favorite toppings and condiments.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup American cheese
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/2 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 lb. julienned white onion
  • 1 stick (or 1/2 cup) butter
  • 1 pack King's Hawaiian Original Rolls

Directions

  1. Preheat the griddle to medium heat.
  1. Once the griddle has warmed up, add butter to the cooktop and sauté the onions until translucent, not caramelized.
  1. Season the ground beef with Pit Boss Bold Burger Rub and add to the griddle, breaking it up as it cooks.
  1. Once the onions and beef are fully cooked, build the sliders by placing the bottom half of the slider buns into an aluminum pan. Layer on the ground beef, American cheese, lettuce, and tomato.
  1. Top with the other half of the buns, cut along the edges of the rolls to create sliders, and enjoy!
Recipe Note

These sliders can be made on any griddle, but we recommend using the Pit Boss 3-Burner Ultimate Lift-Off Griddle
