grilled and smoked jalapeno poppers served on wooden board and garnished with green onions and BBQ sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 chicken tenders
  • 12 Slices of Bacon
  • 6 jalapeños, cut in half

Special Tools

  • Toothpicks

Directions

  1. First, preheat your Pit Boss grill or smoker to 275°F
  1. Next, season each chicken tender with Pit Boss GSP Rub (or garlic, salt, and pepper) and place 1/2 a jalapeño on top of the chicken tender.
  1. Then, wrap a strip of bacon around both the chicken tender and the jalapeño, securing the bacon with a half toothpick on each side.
  1. Next, season the outside of each bacon-wrapped popper with Pit Boss Maple Chipotle Rub.
  1. Once all of the poppers have been seasoned, place them on the bottom rack of your grill and rotate every 5-6 minutes until the bacon becomes crispy and an internal temperature of 165°F has been reached.
  1. Once your poppers hit the correct internal temperature, turn the grill off, brush them with BBQ sauce, and allow them to sit inside the grill for about 10 minutes.
  1. Finally, take the poppers from the grill, remove the toothpicks, and enjoy!
