Cooking Instructions

These bossin’ Southern Green Beans are full of flavor and the perfect side to any meal. This recipe is under 6 ingredients and is almost completely hands off. A delicious, healthy way to add some veggies to your next dinner and are sure to temp even the pickiest eater!

The green beans and bacon are pan roasted, so each gets a nice crispy finish that is full of smoky flavor from the pellet grill. Pair this side with any pork or chicken dish.

Note: It is recommended to use Hickory Hardwood Pellets with this recipe.

This recipe uses Hickory Bacon seasoning.

  1. Fire up your Pit Boss grill and set the temperature to 350°F. If you’re using a gas or charcoal grill, set it up for medium heat. Place a cast iron pan on the grill to preheat. Once the pan finishes preheating, place the 4 slices of bacon in the pan and cook for 15 minutes until the bacon has rendered and is crispy.
  2. Remove the bacon from the pan and reserve for later. Leave the pan and drippings on the grill, and add the green beans, chicken broth, water, and Hickory Bacon seasoning to taste. Close the lid on the grill and cook for an hour, or until the beans are tender.
  3. Chop the bacon on a cutting board and mix into the beans with the butter. Allow the beans to cook for another minute, then remove from the heat and serve.
