1 Onion, Sliced

A tribute to all the winning fans out there cheer on your team with Philadelphia's most iconic food, Philly Cheese Steaks! Cooked on a pellet grill, this recipe is given a new element of flavor from reverse seared steaks which are smoked then charred. The result is an incredible bomb of flavors which enhances a revered classic. 


Wood Pellet Recommendation

We recommend using our Classic Hardwood Blend (Mesquite, Hickory, and Pecan) to elevate the beefy flavors of this sandwich. 

  1. Start your Grill on SMOKE with the lid open until a fire is established in the burn pot (10 minutes).
  2. Preheat to 250°F.
  3. Season both sides of your steaks with salt and pepper to your liking. We're going to reverse sear these steaks, so place on the grates of your preheated Grill. You'll want to cook the steaks until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (for medium-rare). Follow these internal temperatures if you'd like to cook your steak more/less done:
  4. Rare: 125°F
  5. Medium Rare: 130°F
  6. Medium: 140°F
  7. Well Done: 160°F
  8. If you're cooking your steaks medium rare, it will take around 45 minutes depending on how thick the steaks are.
  9. While the steaks are cooking, slice up the onion, mushrooms, and peppers thinly and sauté until soft.
  10. When the steaks have reached your desired internal temperature, remove steaks from the grill and let them rest for 15 minutes. In the meantime, open up your flame broiler and crank up the grill to HIGH. Sear each side of the steak for about 1 minutes each.
  11. Rest steaks again for 10 minutes.
  12. Slice steak thinly, combine with the sautéed vegetables and fill a hot dog bun generously with the mixture.
