Ingredients

1 tsp Beef & Brisket Rub

3/4 cup Beef Stock

2 tbsp Butter

1 tbsp Cornstarch

1 Green Bell Pepper, chopped

1 lb Ground Beef

6 Hamburger Buns

2 tbsp Ketchup

8 oz Mushrooms, sliced

8 oz Provolone, grated

1 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

1 Yellow Onion, chopped

Cooking Instructions

An easy and delicious Philly cheesesteak but made in the style of a Sloppy Joe. Ground beef is seared up on the Pit Boss Griddle then tossed with sautéed green bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and a tangy sauce that thickens right on the griddle. Top it all off with gooey provolone cheese and toss it right onto your bun for a meal the whole family will love.

Note: This recipe uses Pit Boss Grills Beef & Brisket Rub Seasoning

  1. Fire up your Pit Boss Griddle and set the right half to medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook for 5 minutes, until browned. Slide to the left side of the griddle to keep warm.
  3. Add the butter, onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms, and sauté for 3 minutes, then mix in the ground beef. Season with Beef & Brisket, then stir in ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. In a small bowl, mix beef stock and cornstarch together, then pour over the vegetable and beef mixture. Continue stirring for 1 minute, until thickened.
  5. Turn off griddle, then fold in the provolone cheese until melted. Serve warm on hamburger buns.

Special Tools

  • Metal Spatula
  • Small Bowl

Bigger. Hotter. Heavier. Tip

Turn off the burners when adding in cheese at the end of cooking. The warmth of the griddle will keep ingredients warm and melt the cheese properly, without caramelizing or burning the cheese.
