Learn how to master grilled chicken wings at home with these delicious, smoky, grilled honey chipotle wings! Juicy wings with a sweet and spicy glaze get a delicious hint of smoke from our pellet grill, making these a perfect addition to your summer cookout, or just a tasty weekend treat!

Before you start: This recipe is best when the chicken has time to marinate in your homemade glaze. We recommend starting this recipe the morning you plan to grill so you can infuse all that precious flavor into the meat before throwing down on the grill.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb. chicken wings, trimmed and patted dry
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 chipotles in adobo sauce, chopped
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp Pit Boss Sweet Rib Rub

Directions

  • MAKE THE MARINADE: In a large bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, honey, chopped chipotle peppers, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and Sweet Rib Rub. Whisk the glaze until it's well combined.
  • MARINATE: Add the wings to the bowl to coat with the glaze, cover, and place in the fridge. Allow to marinate for up to 12 hours.
  • GRILL: Preheat your grill to 350°F or 'medium high heat' if using a charcoal or gas grill. Remove the marinated wings from the fridge and place on a wire rack. Insert a temperature probe into the thickest part of one of the wings and grill on the bottom grate for 5 minutes. Then rotate the rack 180° and grill for another 5 minutes. Remove the wings once they have an internal temperature of 165°F and the juice from the chicken runs clear.
  • SERVE & ENJOY: Remove the fully-cooked wings from the grill and serve immediately.
