Pit Boss Nation, join us in celebrating our Hero of the Month: firefighter Joel Hoium! Joel was nominated by his wife, Mariah, who said he has a positive impact on others through mentorship, support, and encouragement – both in his personal and professional life. His inspiration for his commitment to his career path is rooted in a sense of duty to protect and serve his community, as well as a desire to help others in their time of need and to make a difference in the lives of others. Mariah commended his leadership skills, creativity, and innovative efforts to inspire others and promote positive change. When Joel is off duty or during down time on his shifts, he can be found behind the grill. Mariah said he grills nearly every day, whether he is at home or on 48-hour shifts at the fire department. “He is an excellent griller and makes unique and delicious meals for his family at home and at the station,” Mariah said. She added that his favorite grilling experience so far has been teaching his daughters how to grill. Thank you for your service, Joel!
