Dessert cooked on a pellet grill has never sounded so good! In this recipe, ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie dough is combined with fresh strawberries and topped with whipped or ice cream for the perfect after-dinner delight. Bake in the backyard and share with family or friends, or as a sweet treat at your next camping or tailgating adventure.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. fresh strawberries, quartered
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 lb. chocolate chip cookie dough, room temperature

Tools

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Baking Pan

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl, mix the strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract until mixture no longer looks dry.
  • Place mixture in a baking pan or half-size aluminum pan.
  • Preheat your wood pellet grill to 350°F. When it hits temperature, place your pan on the center rack.
  • Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from your grill. The mixture will seem undercooked, which is to be expected.
  • Evenly place chunks of cookie dough over the top of the mixture.
  • Place pan back on center rack of the grill and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until cookie dough is baked and golden brown.
  • Remove from the grill and allow to sit for 15 minutes before serving.

Recipe Note

Serve this dessert with a chilled glass of Riesling and don't forget to top with lots of whipped cream.
