Since these chicken wings are inspired by traditional Korean cuisine, they pack a punch when it comes to flavor! Cooked to perfection on the Pit Boss, then generously coated in a homemade Korean-style sauce, these wings will be your new go-to for tailgates, backyard barbecues, and beyond!

Ingredients

  • Chicken wings
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Gochujang
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seed oil
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp garlic, minced

Tools

  • Cast Iron Skillet

Directions

  • Preheat your wood pellet grill to 300°F
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel, then season with a general-purpose BBQ rub (We recommend the Pit Boss Smoked Salt & Pepper Rub).
  • Place the wings directly on the grill grates and smoke until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • While the wings are cooking, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, Gochujang, sesame oil, rice vinegar, fish sauce, and minced garlic in a saucepan. Simmer over low heat until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Once the wings are smoked, increase the temperature of the grill to 400°F. Heat a cast iron skillet on the grill grates and sear the wings for 2-3 minutes per side until crispy.
  • Remove the wings from the grill, and toss them in the prepared wing sauce.
  • *For extra crispness place back onto the grill with the sear plate open for a few minutes. Be sure to monitor the wings closely during this step to avoid burning.
  • Remove the wings from the grill, and finish by topping with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
