Kansas City-Style Ribs

  • 4 Servings
  • 2- 4 Hours Prep Time
  • 4-5 Hours Cook Time

This recipe is simple and produces a moist, flavorful rib with the perfect bite!

Ingredients

Directions

  • Remove membrane from ribs (optional).
  • Apply mustard as a binder for the rub and spread on ribs.
  • Season ribs liberally with Pit Boss Sweet Rib Rub.
  • Put ribs back in the fridge for 2-4 hours.
  • 30 minutes before cooking the ribs, turn the smoker on to 250°F and remove ribs from the fridge.
  • When the smoker has reached 250°F place the ribs in the smoker for 1.5-2 hours, when the rib begins to look dry begin spritzing with apple juice.
  • Continue spritzing with apple juice every 30-45 minutes for the remainder of the cook.
  • When the ribs are almost done, apply a light glaze of Pit Boss Memphis Hickory & Vinegar BBQ Sauce and continue cooking for 15-30 minutes.
  • The ribs are finished when they bend without breaking (about 4.5-5 hours).

Recipe Note

Rather than using time and temperature to determine if ribs are done, use the bend test. You'll achieve the perfect bite every time!
