The ultimate easy burnt ends recipe, perfect for backyard barbecues, tailgates and the like. Charred hot dogs are combined with savory BBQ sauce, spices, and you're favorite dark soda to create a gooey smoky version of everyone's favorite: burnt ends.

Ingredients

  • 24 hot dogs
  • 2 cups Pit Boss Kentucky Whiskey Barrel BBQ Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Pit Boss Sweet Heat Rub
  • 8 oz. dark soda of choice (we used Dr. Pepper)

Directions

  • Preheat your wood pellet grill or smoker to 350°F.
  • Grill the hot dogs until they reach your desired color. We recommend slightly charring them.
  • Remove from the grill and cut into quarters. Mix them in a bowl with your BBQ sauce, BBQ rub and dark soda.
  • Place the mixture into a half size aluminum pan and place back on the grill for another 40-50 minutes stirring every 10 minutes until the sauce becomes tacky.
  • Remove from the grill and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
