  • 10 minutes Cook Time

Are you looking for the perfect summertime meal? Maybe you're watching a baseball game and really want to feel like you're there at the ballpark? Or maybe it's Super Bowl Sunday and you want to serve a tasty meal for your friends that involves bacon. Because, we all know bacon with just about anything is a crowd pleaser. If this is the case, you can't really go wrong with bacon wrapped hot dogs.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 2 Green Bell Pepper, Diced
  • 6-8 Hot Dog Buns
  • 6-8 Bacon Strips, 1 per Hot Dog
  • 6-8 Hot Dogs
  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil

Directions

  • Preheat your grill to a medium-high heat 350°F to 450°F. Before placing anything on the grill, generously oil the cooking grids, using a cloth and vegetable oil.
  • Heat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • Lay a slice of bacon on a cutting board.
  • Roll the bacon and hot dog around until the bacon covers the whole hot dog. Secure with a toothpick on each end.
  • Repeat steps 3 and 4 again, by wrapping each hot dog with one strip of bacon, and secure with a toothpick on each end.
  • Cook the bacon wrapped hot dogs on the grill. When the bacon is lightly crisp, remove from the heat. This takes about 4-6 minutes.
  • Toast the buns by turning the grill up to high. Open the flame broiler. Place bun face down on cooking grids. Toast until desired done.
  • As soon as the hot dogs are done, place them on a toasted bun, pile on the chopped green peppers, and serve.
