This Texas Style Pellet Grill Turkey is a simple recipe that will make your Thanksgiving much less stressful. As the Turkey cooks low and slow at 300°F for almost 4 hours, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the holiday with your guests. Trust us, this is one you’ll want to serve throughout the year.

How to Cook a Turkey on a Pellet Grill

With 8 in 1 cooking options on a Pit Boss Pellet Grill, you can smoke, BBQ, bake and roast a whole turkey. This recipe calls for the bird to be barbecued low and slow at 300°F. To smoke the turkey, simply turn the temperature down to 250°F during the initial phase and turn up to 300°F when you place it in the roasting pan.

  1. Preheat Grill to 300°F
  2. Liberally season Turkey with equal parts kosher salt and coarse black pepper.
  3. Cook on grill until Internal temp reaches approximately 145°F or the skin has darkened to your liking.
  4. Place turkey in a roasting pan topped with a pound of chopped butter and cover.
  5. Return to the grill until internal temp of the thigh and breast reaches 165°F
  6. Let rest for 30 minutes, carve and serve.
