Put a tasty spin on the classic holiday bird with this Teriyaki Glazed Whole Turkey recipe, perfect for a Thanksgiving meal or any gathering. This recipe uses a marinade which is injected into the turkey, keeping it moist throughout the cook. The remaining marinade is then used in the glaze.
We recommend setting the grill to 300°F and barbecuing the whole turkey until the breasts and thighs reach an internal temperature of 165°F to 170°F.
In a saucepan, whisk together melted butter, garlic, soy sauce, apple cider, ground ginger, and honey. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer. Inject the mixture into the thickest parts of the breast, thighs, and wings. You will have some remaining liquid which will be used for the glaze later.
Note: It is recommended to use Fruit Hardwood Pellets with this recipe.
This recipe uses Pit Boss Champion Chicken Seasoning.
To thaw a frozen turkey, allow 24 hours for every 4 to 5 lbs.
