Ingredients

2 Garlic Cloves, Minced

1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce

1/4 cup Pit Boss Kansas City Maple & Molasses BBQ Sauce

2 lbs Pork Tenderloin, Trimmed with Silver Skins Removed

1 tbsp Sugar, Granulated

1 tsp Sweet Rib Rub Seasoning

1/4 cup Tamari

1/4 cup White Wine

Cooking Instructions

Just like your favorite takeout dish, this Chinese BBQ Pork Tenderloin is filled with irresistible sweet and tangy flavors. Also known as Char Siu, this pork tenderloin is marinated in an Asian-style sauce then grilled and basted as it cooks. The sauce thickens and caramelizes for a mouthwatering sticky-sweet outer glaze.

Wood Pellet Recommendation

In order to bring out that sweet, tangy flavor that has become synonymous with Chinese BBQ, we recommend using our Classic Blend Hardwood Pellets

Note: This recipe uses Pit Boss Sweet Rib Rub Seasoning and Pit Boss Kansas City Maple & Molasses BBQ Sauce.

Note: The FDA recommends to cook pork to a minimum internal temperature of 145°F.

  1. In a glass measuring cup, whisk together the hoisin sauce, tamari, wine, garlic, sugar, and Sweet Rib Rub.
  2. Place pork tenderloin in a resealable bag, then pour the marinade over the pork and allow to marinate in the refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours.
  3. Fire up your Pit Boss pellet grill on SMOKE mode and let it run with lid open for 10 minutes then preheat to 400° F. If using a gas or charcoal grill, preheat to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the pork from the marinade, then pour the marinade into a grill-safe pan.
  5. Place the marinade on the grill and bring to a boil for 3 minutes. Add the BBQ sauce and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from the grill, and set aside.
  6. Place the pork on the grill and cook for 18 to 20 minutes, until an internal temperature of 145° F. Flip and baste the pork with the sauce every 3 to 5 minutes.
  7. Remove the pork from the grill and allow it to rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes, prior to serving warm with additional sauce.
