Bought my Austin XL 1000 on 9-18-18. So far I love it!! St. Louis ribs, hamburgers, beer brats, have turned out great! Tonight will be a thick rib eye steak. Have previously cooked on an open flame home built wood burning cooker, hard to beat the taste, but too much baby sitting and watching it. The Pit Boss Austin has matched or beat the taste test, and the ease of cooking, far superior! Really, set it and forget it! I am thinking of buying a tailgater for my small cooking, as the Austin has way more cooking space for a single person, but will fit the needs of a large cook out. I read that as of 9/2/18 they extended the warranty to 5 years? Maybe cancel the Walmart warranty at $58.00?

Couldn’t be happier, surpassed my Rec Tec bullseye with ease, not only packing and shipping but cooking is much easier

Purchased my Pit Boss Austin XL a few months ago and I am a true believer now on how great these grills cook food. The wonderful smoke flavor is tasted in every bite we take no matter what I put on there. My next big project to cook on this grill will be a Suckling Pig but I have pure confidence this grill will cook it to perfection. PitBoss will be the only brand grill i own from here on out

I had a Camp Chef prior to the Austin XL. I enjoyed the Camp Chef but I was never able to get it over 375. I was a little hesitant about getting this one but took the chance. I do not regret it. The controls are easy and work great. It gets to temp really quickly. The flame broiler is a great option, even if it is somewhat small. It makes searing steaks nice and easy. I have noticed though that since it gets up to 500 degrees you can sear it without it, but the flame definitely gives it a nice touch if you like a good char which I do. Also great for long term smokes. I have done ribs, pork loin and brisket and it handles them all with ease. I am definitely a fan.
