It’s hard to go wrong with comfort food when you’re grilling meals for your guests. People often associate foods like pizza, bacon and eggs, burgers, mac and cheese with comfort because they were often served during their childhood. Thus, people have fond memories of family bonding with every warm, delicious bite.

This Bacon Mac and Cheese Stuffed Sliders recipe hits the comfort food trifecta. In one bite you get three popular childhood (and adult) flavors that explode and awaken your taste buds with feelings of warmth and nostalgia. The melted creaminess of the mac and cheese mixes well with the salty and savory bacon and beef flavors.

Note: It is recommended to use Hickory Hardwood Pellets

  1. Cook your favorite prepared mac and cheese. Follow the instructions on the box.
  2. Turn your grill onto smoke until the flame catches, then turn it to 400°F.
  3. Put the ground beef into a bowl and generously add the Applewood Bacon Rub. Mix with your hands until the meat looks evenly coated.
  4. Separate the meat out into 3oz balls, disperse or toss the remnants.
  5. Split the balls in half, and add half of the meat to the bottom of the Pit Boss 3-in-1 Burger Press, then add a tablespoon of mac and cheese (it works better if you kind of make a bowl in the center of the meat). Then add the remaining half of the 3oz ball on top of the mac and cheese.
  6. Use the Pit Boss 3-in-1 Burger press to create the perfect patty!
  7. Add the sliders to the grill, flip every 5 minutes for about 15-20 minutes depending on how cooked you like your burgers.
  8. You can also toast your buns at this time if you’d like.
  9. Pull the sliders (and the buns) from the grill, add the stone ground mustard and whatever else your tummy may desire – and dig in!
